This past Thursday night was full of laughter, information and bonding. The organization F.A.M.I.L.Y. (Forget About Me I Love You) hosted their kick-off meeting in Holden Hall. With presentations, free food and ice-breakers everyone had a great time. The goal of their meeting was to introduce each of the members, as well introducing the organization movement to the school community. While inviting the students to join the organization they discussed their purpose on campus which is to build as well maintain positive relationships on campus.
The organization is still new on campus after being founded sat year. Although it is still fresh, they are taking major steps in community service. One of their most notable endeavors is their baby shower events for mothers, as well expecting mothers in need of child care necessities. F.A.M.I.L.Y. also collaborates with the organization My Brothers Keeper, which is another organization that is a civic engagement partnership between the RCAH and Detroit Public Schools.
