School is out, summer is here, and theme parks across the U.S. are making their grand openings, inviting you into a world of roller coasters, water slides and delicious elephant ears. There are many theme parks, but which one will you choose? If you choose to visit a theme park, you want the best bang for your buck. In an economy like this, if you’re going to spend the money, you want to enjoy yourself from the moment you step inside to the moment you leave for the day. Here are VOICE Magazine’s the top five theme parks:
“The happiest place on Earth, Where dreams come true and The most magical place on Earth”. Whichever slogan you’ve heard, they are all true. Disney World is a kid’s dream…on steroids! Little girls love Cinderella and little boys love Tarzan, but this park takes it to a whole new level. There are plenty of rides and every character of the Disney family walking around the park greeting people, ready to take a photo with you. Time with your family and your children’s’ dreams coming true: It doesn’t get any better than that!
Cedar Point has been voted best amusement park on the planet seven years in a row. And with good reason! It is considered the roller coaster capital of the world. The popular Millennium Force has been called the greatest attraction of the park. Opened in 2000, this remarkable ride has broken 10 world records and still has the longest line in the park, if you ask me. Cedar Point’s newest addition, the “Windseeker”, raises 30 feet off of the ground and propels riders into the air as they experience an exhilarating swinging journey. With Cedar Point’s reputation, I am confident you thrill-ride enthusiasts will not be disappointed.
To be indoor or not to be indoor? That is the question. This is something you will likely contemplate each day you are at Wisconsin Dells because there is just so much to do! Wisconsin Dells is a great place for everyone. There are roller coasters, water rides, water sports, hiking, and much more! The list goes on and on and on! The special thing about the Wisconsin Dells is there is something to do all year round. While most places begin to shorten their hours or close at the end of summer, the Dells remain open, continuing to provide fun for all visitors! From scenic hikes along the river and screaming on a roller coaster to interactive game playing and museum oddities, you will never have a dull day.
Now most people would beg to differ. “Six Flags is number four? What an outrage!” But it still makes the top five. Here’s why: Six Flags differs from Cedar Point in several ways. Six Flags offers a more family – friendly environment. Everyone in the family can enjoy their rides. What also sets them apart is the park is more THEME based, Whereas Cedar Point is known for its intensity level. Either way, they are both fine parks, clean, friendly staff, and you are going to have a great time.
Three areas in one theme park equal Bundles of fun. One side of the park, Blastenhoff, has slides and beaches while the other, Surfenburg, has surfing. There is also a kiddie park and a hot tub for the adults. Schlitterbahn West has it all! Tubing, swimming, sliding, and thrill rides. There is something for everyone. It’s very family oriented and you can be there for days and never get bored.
